Do I Have Wind or Hail Damage?
Modern roofs are designed to withstand the elements, temperature changes, and snow, hail, and wind. However, even the strongest of roofs can break after prolonged exposure to powerful storms. Storm damage could be fully covered by your homeowners insurance. We can provide a free storm damage roof inspection by looking for missing shingles, cracks, broken shingles, leak spots and any hail indents or bruised shingles.
Should I Choose a Metal or Asphalt Shingle Roof?
This is a commonly requested question that we get. It really depends on a lot of variables. And very importantly, your budget. Shingles offer the most cost-effective option. They are one of the most popular options on the market. Metal roofs offer better durability, and longevity compared to shingles. However, metal roofs will typically be more expensive upfront than an asphalt roof, but offer savings in that a metal roof has to be replaced less frequently.
How Do I Know If I Need a New Roof?
There are a few signs that it may be time for a new roof. It is a good idea to check in your attic first under the eaves to see if there are any stains or obvious holes or leaks. A typical asphalt shingle roof will last for 20 years, so if your roof is 25 years old, it may be time to consider having it replaced. If you notice shingles missing from your roof, or cracking, its another sign that the integrity of your roof is breaking down. If you notice your roof is starting to sag, then it is a very good change that you need to replace your roof quickly before it rots further. The best thing that you can do is have a professional roofing contractor come out to inspect the condition of your roof.
How Long Does A Typical Roof Last?
This answer depends on the type of roofing system that you are interested in installing on your roof. Typically, a shingle roof will last about 15 to 25 years. Architectural shingles will tend to last longer than 3-tab shingles. A standing seam metal roof can last 30 to 50 years. Tile can last from 50 to 100 years. Cedar shake is designed to last about 20 to 35 years. A slate roof can last from 50 to 100 years, or longer!
How Long Will My Roof Replacement Take?
This answer depends on many variables, such as the slope and pitch of your roof, the size of your roof, and the type of material being installed. On average, most roofs can be installed in as little as one day!
What Should I Look For When Choosing a Roofing Company?
Your roof is your home's most valuable investment. You want to make sure you make the best choice for your home. It is important to check to make sure your roofing contractor is local, and will be here for the life of your roof. You want a roofing company that values their reputation, and has glowing reviews and references. Price should also be an important consideration - but not the only one. A quality contractor should be priced in the middle (too low and they likely may be cutting corners, and too high they may simply be gouging). You should ask your contractor about the warranties that they offer, and the quality of the material.
