Most Storm Damage Isn’t Visible From the Ground

Hail damage on asphalt shingles is not a hole. It is a bruise — a circular area where the impact knocked granules loose and fractured the mat underneath. From the ground it looks like nothing. From four feet away on the roof it is obvious, and it means the shingle has lost its UV protection at that spot and will fail years early.
Wind damage is similar. A gust does not usually rip shingles off. It breaks the adhesive seal strip and folds the shingle back, and the shingle then lays back down looking normal. The crease is a permanent failure point that will leak, but you cannot see it without lifting the tab.
That is the entire case for a documented inspection: the damage that determines whether you have a claim is damage you cannot assess yourself.

How much does a storm damage roof inspection cost?
Nothing. Inspections are free across Rutherford County. You receive annotated photos, measurements and a written repair or replacement estimate that is yours to keep and submit to your insurer, whether or not you hire us for the work.
How soon after a storm should I get inspected?
Within a few weeks if you can. Two reasons: most Tennessee policies require prompt notice of a loss, and damage becomes harder to attribute to a specific storm as more weather passes over it. If you have an active leak, call immediately rather than waiting.
What if you don’t find any damage?
Then we tell you that and you have a written record showing the roof was inspected and found sound. That documentation has value on its own — it is useful at resale and it establishes a baseline if a later storm does cause damage.
Can you meet my insurance adjuster at the house?
Yes, and we recommend it. Having the roofer on the roof at the same time as the adjuster means damage can be pointed out in person rather than argued about in writing later. We are there to show what we found, not to negotiate on your behalf.
